This moment is a gift. It is an opportunity to share what’s in my heart and the feelings I have longed to express.
I first stepped in Colegio de Sta. Rosa – Makati twelve years ago as a kindergarten pupil. Unlike most of my classmates, I wasn’t crying and afraid during the first day of classes. I was rather perplexed being in a new surrounding, to belong in a new environment, a place which I would eventually call my second home. Colegio de Sta. Rosa has been a key witness to my growth and development as a person, a deaf testimonial to the transitions of what I have become: from a child brimming with curiosity yet filled with dreams …to a lady bequeathed of determination with a thirst to prove herself to the world. As I receive my diploma, the ending becomes clear and that I must bid goodbye to one amazing, magical chapter of my life: high school.
What lies ahead of us is something we can never know for sure. The future is of uncertainty; we have no idea where our paths may take us. But knowing who you are, my dear seniors, there is one thing I’m certain of. You can get through trials. You can conquer challenges. This is what the four years were about, to prepare us for the real world. At times, we may not succeed but it is in failures we find ourselves and have the chance to prove our worth. You will come out strong in the end. No matter what, I believe, we’re in this together. Long have people tried to divide us and aggravate our bond. But they have only made us stronger and brought us even closer. I no longer think of our batch as a composition of two distinct batches. For me, the SENIORES are a fusion of various circles of friends, an assimilation of our differences and a reliable threshold of love and support. Memories of our togetherness shall forever be treasured, for I won’t forget friends whose impact in me can only be described in superlatives.
During our incredible journey, there were many who stood by, watched over and guided us. For all these, they definitely deserved to b honored at this point in time.
Firstly, dear God our father I heaven…without you, we are utterly nothing. Our victories and defeats are lifted to you, Lord. We love you with all our hearts.
To our ever dearest parents, family members and friends…for all your hard work and continual support you’ve always fronted. You are our inspiration and guidance in life.
To our advisers: Mrs. Adri, Ms. Gabayeron, Ms. Amodia and Ms. Labrador…our endless gratitude for your patience, love and being our parents here in school. Through triumph and defeat, you were there. You will never be forgotten.
To our teachers, the faculty, dear administrators and the whole CSR community…for your efforts in molding us to become morally upright, intellectually competent and service-oriented Roseñas, thank you.
And of course, to my fellow graduates, the batch of 2005… I wouldn’t be here at all if it weren’t for you—my confidante, my sanctuary, a haven of consolation and peace. THANK YOU, seniors. There are so many things I’d like to say but to some all those up, I wish you only the best.
It has been said that high school graduation is the most emotional of all commencement exercises. Well, whoever said it wasn’t kidding. There really comes a time when we just have to bid farewell to something precious to us, to someone we truly love. For me, this isn’t one of those times. I won’t say goodbye, seniors…but only, "See you later!" J
